Spend Winter in Paradise with Costa Rica's Amazing Jaco Beach Tours

Costa Rica offers wonderful vacations throughout the year, but winter is one of the best times to arrive in this exotic locale. Those traveling during the months of December, January, and February can ignore the chilly temperatures of the north while they experience a warm welcome to Central America with a spectacular Jaco beach tour.

Eighty miles from the Juan Santamaria International Airport near San Jose lay the coastal village of Jaco. With a population of roughly 10,000 inhabitants, Jaco gives visitors a peaceful vacation away from hectic city living. The best time to visit Jaco is during the winter, which is the area's dry season. Naturally, even during the dry season, most visitors to Jaco wish to get wet in the warm Pacific Ocean.

We provide Jaco beach tours to those vacationers who wish to explore both the adventure and tranquility that can only be found by those who intimately know Jaco. Learn how to surf in the Pacific Ocean. Take a zip-line tour, view the beaches on horseback, or go on a fishing expedition with professionals who are trained in welcoming both novice and experienced adventurers. From white water rafting to relaxing cruises, we offer plenty of options for all of those who visit Jaco.

Our Jaco beach tours do not focus solely on beach activities, however. We can provide shopping and dining as part of any getaway as well. Visitors can learn about live music venues, nightclubs, and casinos – or, sign up for one of our ATV tours that take visitors through nearby Carara National Park. There is plenty to do in Jaco, both in the waves and away from the sand.

A vacation in a warm beach town is the perfect cure for the wintertime blues. Visit Jaco beach for an experience like no other!

Crocodile Boat Tours in Jaco Beach

One of our favorite tours in Jaco Beach is the Crocodile Boat Tour. Last weekend we were invited by our friends that operate it at the Tarcoles River only 15 minutes away from our vacation rentals in Jaco.

The most impresive thing about this tour is the huge crocodiles that inhabit the river, some of them measuring up to 17 feet long! The funny thing is they have put them names, so we met some big crocs like Osama Big Laden, Tornado and other small guys like Justin Bieber.

One of the guys in the boat feeds them so it lets you see how big they are, we asked our guide if any accidents had happened and he says none, they know these animals since they are little kids, so they know their behavior and know how to get close to them. The crocodiles are also used to them so they swim close to the boat to get fed when they feel the boat approaching.
Look how big Tornado is! It was difficult to fit it in the picture.

It is also very nice to ride through the river and photograph lots of exotic birds, as well as the mangrove forest close to the river mouth which is full of crabs.

Beautiful posing for the picture with the Carara mountains in the back

Thank you Jose and Carolina for inviting us!

If you want to book this tour please contact us today and we will coordinate the pick up right in your vacation rental in Jaco.

The Variety of Jaco Beach Tours

Jaco Beach is located in the central Pacific area of Costa Rica. This is the perfect location to make the most of a visit to this country. We offer many tours and activities and are close to banks, attractions and nightlife, making this the ideal place to stay and explore Costa Rica. The area is a transitional forest area between the North and South and features the widest variety of birds in the area. You can tour the jungle by day and the nightlife by night.

The canopy guide offers 13 zip lines. Some of the longest cable runs in the Central Pacific are here. Our bilingual guides will lead you on an unforgettable journey across the jungle canopy of Costa Rica. Safety is our highest priority. The tour covers 222 miles of dry North Pacific forest and South Pacific Rain Forest.

What would a trip to Jaco Beach be without surf tours? We offer surf guides for any experience level. Surf lessons and tours are five minutes away from condo accommodations, in front of Club del Mar Hotel. Enjoy the surf, and follow your ocean tour with yoga, Pilates or a mountain-bike tour.

Jaco Beach ATV tours include two, three, and four-hour tours of beaches, rainforests, waterfalls and villages. Enjoy the scenery and wildlife riding the trails on an ATV or motorcycle. The tours follow routes through the countryside and villages, with stops along the way for refreshments and great views. Horseback riding and bird watching tours are also available.

Spending a three-hour tour finding wildlife is a great part of Jaco Beach tours. Discover the many exotic bird species that are native to Costa Rica. Bird watching is a fast growing recreational activity. Photographers of all levels of expertise will enjoy this activity. Turtle and crocodile tours are also available. Sea Turtles are just as endangered as the magnificent Galapagos turtle, and great care is taken in preserving them. Other tours include rafting, volcano tours, Tortuga Island and the Manuel Antonio National Park.
